Year K - 6
After School Program
Students who attend drama classes develop a confidence that supports them in all aspects of life. In particular our students show much improvement and excel in areas such as creative writing, creative expression, public speaking and debating. Many also become school leaders in the form of Captains, Prefects, Student representatives and leading roles in school productions.
Our term programs focus on building skills in acting, voice, movement and performance. The last class of each term will be an opportunity for students to show what they have learned in a short performance for parents and family.
During Terms 1 & 2 students will focus on exploring various theatre styles through theatre games and activities. In Terms 3 and 4 students will be focus more on improvisation and theatre making including script writing and interpreting simple texts.
Drama is an activity that is not graded or competitive. It is a personal development journey for each child. The Term program is designed to build and extend skills over time so the best results are achieved when students can complete a whole program.
